Welcome to Kaesler

Premium Barossa Wine

Welcome to Kaesler Wines, home to some of the Barossa Valley’s most highly regarded estate grown premium wines including The Old Bastard Shiraz, Old Vine Shiraz, Avignon Grenache / Mourvèdre and The Bogan Shiraz.

The Kaesler family were pioneers who settled in the Barossa Valley in the 1840s and planted their first vines in 1893. To this day, Kaesler wines are made from these ancient, dry grown vineyards.

The Old Bastard

The Kaesler ‘Old Bastard’ Barossa Shiraz is arguably one of Australia’s most highly regarded wines. The name refers to a small number of ‘old bastards’ – gnarly old ‘bush vines’ planted in 1893, which form the heart of the ‘Kaesler’ brand. With a Langton’s ‘Outstanding’ classification and consistently rated as a benchmark Barossa Shiraz, The Old Bastard is highly sought after by wine enthusiasts and collectors around the world.

Cellar Door Experience

Our scenic cellar door is situated in the heart of the Barossa. Guests can enjoy a tasting of our icon and/or estate range of premium wines. We offer back vintage and large format wines, exclusively available on site. Cheese platters are available on the weekend and vineyard tours can be arranged if booked in advance.

Since 1893

Our History

Kaesler was first owned by Silesian pioneers who took up it’s 96 acres in 1891 and by 1893 the entire acreage was under vine. To this day, some of the original Shiraz vines still remain and continue to provide the backbone of our intense and celebrated wines.
